What's the difference between Hekko and Otter.ai?

Otter.ai writes down what was said; Hekko turns what was said into something you can revise from. A transcript of a 90-minute lecture runs to many pages of spoken language: repetitions, digressions, half-finished sentences. It's a complete record, but it isn't a study document.

Hekko transcribes too, then restructures the lecture: headings, bullet points, key concepts in bold, tables and formulas when the subject calls for them, and the professor's slides merged in. Then it generates a cheat sheet, quizzes and flashcards from that course.

Is Otter.ai good for recording lectures?

Which one is better for revising for exams?

Hekko, clearly, because Otter.ai doesn't try to do it. With Otter you'd need to reread the transcript, write your own summary, and make your own flashcards.
