The questions we get asked.
What Hekko does, what it does not, which languages it speaks, and what happens to your recordings.
Hekko is the AI notetaker for students. You record your lecture (in person or online) or upload your PDFs, slides and Word documents, and Hekko automatically generates clean structured notes, a revision sheet, quizzes and flashcards — in 100+ languages. All you have to do is listen in class.
Hekko doesn't store your recordings: the audio is transcribed then deleted. You only receive structured notes, as if you had taken them yourself. No audio file is stored on our servers. It's always best to check with your professor just in case.
Hekko uses your phone or computer's microphone. It generally captures audio very well, even from the back of the lecture hall. During recording, a level bar shows you in real time if the sound is being captured properly, so you can adjust your position if needed.
No. As long as your connection is stable, the recording runs smoothly regardless of duration. And if something goes wrong (battery dies, crash, bug), your audio is automatically secured — you'll be able to recover your notes as soon as the situation is resolved.

Yes, Hekko works with all types of courses: lectures, tutorials, labs, seminars. The transcription captures everything said, even when the professor speaks fast.
With ChatGPT, you have to do everything yourself: copy your lecture, write a prompt, rephrase. With Hekko, you don't have to do anything. You start recording, listen to your lecture, and automatically receive your clean transcription, structured notes, and a revision sheet ready for exams.
Over 100 languages are supported for transcription and notes (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic…). The interface is available in 6 languages. Notes are generated in the language of your class, and you can translate them in one click.
