Delete your account and your data

This page explains how to request deletion of your data in Hekko, the app published by Elian Tornikoski (EI). You can delete a single course, or your entire account.
1. Delete part of your data (a single course)
You can delete a course without deleting your account. Deleting it erases the course, its notes, quizzes, flashcards and transcript, along with any audio file or document still stored for that course.
In the Hekko app
- Open the “My courses” tab.
- Tap the ⋯ menu on the course card.
- Choose “Delete”, then confirm.
On hekko.ai
- Sign in at hekko.ai and open your dashboard.
- Open the ⋯ menu on the course card.
- Choose “Delete”, then confirm.
Deletion is immediate and permanent: a deleted course cannot be restored.
2. Delete your account and all your data
Deleting your account erases all of your courses, notes, quizzes, flashcards, folders and account data, and ends any active subscription.
In the Hekko app
- Open the “Settings” tab.
- Scroll down to the “Danger zone” section.
- Tap “Delete my account”.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
On hekko.ai
- Sign in at hekko.ai.
- Open “Settings” from your dashboard.
- In the “Account” tab, find “Delete my account”.
- Click “Delete”, then confirm.
3. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access your account, email us from the address associated with it. We handle the request within 30 days at most.
Tell us whether you want a specific course deleted or your entire account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting.
4. Data deleted and data retained
The table below summarises what happens to each type of data when you delete your account.

| Audio recordings | Deleted. They are already erased automatically right after transcription, without waiting for your request. |
| Uploaded documents | Deleted. They are already erased automatically once the course has been generated. |
| Transcripts, notes, quizzes and flashcards | Deleted. Permanently erased from our backups within 30 days. |
| Account data (email address, preferences, folders) | Deleted. Permanently erased from our backups within 30 days. |
| Billing data (invoices, payment records) | Retained for 10 years to meet our legal accounting obligations. It is used for nothing else. |
5. Timing
A deletion triggered from the app or the website is immediate: your data disappears from our live services the moment you confirm, and your account can no longer be used.
Our encrypted backups are rotated, so erasure there becomes permanent within 30 days. Only billing data is kept beyond that, for the period required by law.
